In this self-observational project I try to focus on my body parts as separate creatures. I wonder why they are as they are, where they are, why I am the one who witnesses their change and evolvement. I cut it into parts and pieces as an expression of my fragmented mind that often forgets to zoom out and see the bigger picture that would give me more headspace. I zoom on the mirror.
In the mirror I see myself there where I am not, in an unreal, virtual space that opens up behind the surface; I am over there, there where I am not, a sort of shadow that gives my own visibility to myself, that enables me to see myself there where I am absent: such is the utopia of the mirror.
